Young adults want Obama for a professor but want to read McCain's diary

A new Gallup poll reports that young voters ages 18-29 are more likely to vote Obama than McCain. No surprise there. But something that jumped out at me from the report was this paragraph:

"Obama also beats McCain on several lighter dimensions tested in the poll. A majority of 18- to 29-year-olds would choose Obama over McCain as a teacher, boss, drinking buddy, or advisor. McCain's only appeal on this level with young adults appears to be his personal life story as young adults are more likely to be interested in reading McCain's private diary than Obama's. While such items may seem trivial, basic likeability can be a key indicator of a presidential candidate's ability to win votes."

Here are the details:

Interesting. I wonder who comes up with the indicators? I mean, wouldn't it be fun to have other indicators too, like how many people would...

- like to go on a rollercoaster ride with Obama versus McCain (possibly an important indicator, in this economy)

- prefer to have a hot pepper eating contest with McCain versus Obama (seems like Iraq is a hot pepper of sorts, no?)

- invite Obama versus McCain to their weddings (maybe no one would want a politician at his wedding? but then again, government really does reach into intimate matters of life and death)

- watch McCain versus Obama in a flying trapeze act (okay, maybe that's what we're already doing right now ;-)

Any other fun indicators ya'll could dream up?

Or...

- like to tag team wrestle a wild bear with Obama vs. McCain (could prove useful in future Russian diplomacy)

-or-

- prefer seeing Obama vs. McCain in a hot dog eating contest (really a test to see how much pork either one is able to stomach should they be elected)

I wonder if the reason young adults would be more interested in reading McCain's private diary is that McCain is generally less direct than Obama when speaking about personal things. Young adults might think there would be more they could find out from McCain's diary, whereas they might already know a lot about Obama.

Landslide, that's hilarious.

Or maybe McCain has had a more interesting life ... it's not every day you peek inside the life of a POW ...
